Liminal

The North Face has spent over fifty years equipping athletes and explorers at the edge of what's possible. When professional snowboarder Jake Blauvelt set out to make Liminal — a film about the space between seasons, between disciplines, between what snowboarding was and what it's becoming — they needed a director who could live inside that world.

Jake Blauvelt and The North Face brought me on to co-direct Liminal, a film about transition in professional snowboarding. I directed and shot it over three months from Washington to Vermont, leading a small crew including Mason Lemery, Eric Jackson, and Patrick McCarthy. It premiered on The North Face’s channels and screened in Seattle, Bellingham, and Stowe in 2024.
